i've been using this technique to create abstractions that respond to OSC commands to their given name. the abstraction has an [OSCroute $1] object, and is instanced with [abstractionname /reference-name] where "/reference-name" is passed as $1.
ie: [tr-606 /drums] and then any OSC commands to /pd/synth/drums get routed there. i think it's really handy, but it might be nice to have OSCroute a bit more dynamic. remembering to include the "/" can be a problem for me...

Hey all,
On this note, anyone have a trick for using OSCroute to only route based on a creation argument? Since OSC needs / delimited strings for names, I can't use $1 in the object box... There also seems to be no method to "set" the route names via message...

hello list,
a queston:
is it possible to create a message containing variables not between two
spacebars?
i.e. i'd like to choose between several soundfiles named "sf1.wav",
"sf2.wav" etc. and i want to choose by using only a number box.
If you want to use a Pd builtin commmand use "makefilename sf%d.wav".
