It all sounded like great news until I got to here: "Avid/Digidesign, as new owners of the intellectual property of LAS, has also filed for several patents on Ardour-derived technology." So much for free
software.
Hang on a sec... today's the 1st April, isn't it? Looks like we've been had! =P

Hmmm....
Thats a strange news....
what could it mean ??? What do you think ???
ProTools for Linux ? I dont quite understand what the advantage could be for ProTools. Since i am a ProTools User, i rather think of the benefits of a person like paul davis being part of digidesign..am i too naive ?
Would be niche to have a statement of Miller Puckette here ;-) Under which conditions a program like puredata could slip into a commercial/professional tool like ProTools ;-) I mean just think of the development of digidesign within the last 10 years (i dont mean just the capitalist-shitty part) but the technology and the change of a whole industry. How could a system like Puredata look like in the hands of a big company within te years ????
Any visions ?
