hey,
thanks hc. it makes sense what you say: it must be a slash related problem, since every library im trying to load with pd, it cannot access the binaries with the .pd_darwin ending.. and it prints e.g. "tried /zexy.pd_darwin and failed" or "tried /rradical/radical.pd_darwin and failed." .. what is a leading slash and what can i do about it ?

I think you have a leading slash, i.e. "/xsample". It should just read "xsample".

i did get one new xsamples.pd_darwin and i added the -verbose to the start up flags. now the console reads:
input channels = 2 output channels = 2 input channels = 2 ouput channels = 2 tried /xsample/xsample.pd_darwin and failed tried /xsample.pd_darwin and failed xsample: cant load library
a step closer ?

im not sure what the console is, but i will refer to it as the window that

that's just right!
basically after i made sure the binary file was in the extra
folder in
the resources folder of PD's content (and like Hans-Christoph says
it
already is included) and starting Pd the console outputs "xsample: can't load library" i cannot create a [xgroove~]object ..when i try the console reads xgroove~ ...couldn't create
ok, that's bad, there's something wrong. Two things to try:
- in the Pd/Preferences/Startup menu (you might have to create a
patcher window first to see this), add -verbose to the startup flags (line at the bottom) and restart pd - please tell me what the console now says about xsample loading
- Download an xsample package for OSX from
http://grrrr.org/ext/xsample and replace the xsample.pd_darwin in the PD-extended build with the new version.
