despite of what it says on the website, there are no lucid packages available yet at apt.puredata.info
How can I fix it?
also add the line: deb http://apt.puredata.info/releases karmic main to your repository list, so you might at least get the karmic version until there is a lucid version.
I know I can just download the package from puredata.info directly, but there's no "lucid" package there.
well, apt.puredata.info does not offer different packages than the direct links, it's just more convenient to install directly via apt-get, aptitute or whatelse.
Will the Jaunty package available there be the same thing I would get if I could add the repository to synaptic??
the jaunty package is built for jaunty, on jaunty and with jaunty dependencies. if your lucid can provide all dependencies, than you are fine. if not, you are not.
