Hi thanks, So i got kx working fine. Damn confusing piece of software. Looks like it will be windows 98, kx drivers, and an SB Live setup. Brings me back! No time to play with linux install.

Hi Nicholas, I tryed it with an audigy mp3 (also made by creative). The problem back then, and probably still today, is that port audio needs to have the same number of inputs as outputs. With newer versions of pd, you maybe able to get around that by using the multiple audio card features in the setup preferences. If your thinking about linux try http://dynebolic.org/%C2%A0; it is a bootable cd and comes with pd already installed, so you can see if it would work before you wipe your xp install. I don't think kx would work persay, but you could do some interesting pd like things within kx itself.

Im putting together an old PC for an installation and i need four output channels. I was wondering if anyone has ever managed to get 4 channel out of an SB live 5.1? With the standard XP installed driver i can only get sound out of the front and nothing from the rear. I dont mind putting on linux if that will help (windows at the moment) its just a p3 500. Im going to try the kx drivers and see how that goes. Thanks for any tips though Nick
