some people reported good results with FFADO + MOTU on Linux. Check the latest version and report back to us :-)

this sh*tty recorder =P http://www.samsontech.com/products/productpage.cfm?prodid=1901 Works as soundcard, nice (low) latency. I wish I could use my Motu on Linux... wish. Bad choice for open source, MOTU is hostile.

Linux-wise, quick pointers:
- rt-kernel
- jack realtime enabled (try lowering latency by manipulating audio buffer
size and period)
- pd (startup flags -rt -jack)
[you should configure jack to run realtime, add audio user to the limits.conf, etc.. etc... see the web or UbuntuStudio low latency tutorial, nice reading] I use H4 audio sound card, native USB audio driver recognized in Linux (Ubuntu 9.10 rt) and have really low latency.

Hi List,
What is the best recipe for low latency, using a laptop with no ieee1394 (firewire) and only USB under Windows or Linux? Metastudio 4 for Pure Data - coming soon!!
