[Ctlin] | [pack f 10] (you might want to experiment with this) | [line~]
Then your arithmetic etc.
This basically provides ten milliseconds of interpolation whenever the controller is changed. Too short to noticably change the speed of a fade but it gets rid of the clicks.

I think, it's a midi device, so you should use the midi objects like [ctlin].
