You might investigate this firmware version
problem. There are different
stories going around about whether or not you
[need to/are able to]
downgrade the firmware of an HDSP made after a
certain date. ALSA list
might also be a good place to check. This
downgrade is only possible
using windoze utilities, unfortunately...
I believe HDSP Firmware downgrading is not a relevant issue anymore for HDSP+ALSA.
Does it run under just ALSA? What about OSS/OSS
emulation?
Hi there !
Well before playing around and testing i would check the cardbus and the multiface on windows ...
It can happen that the eeprom is confused with the DSP Card it happened to me and it can only be repaired by rme, a sign for that if you cannot upload the firmware anymore with the flash-utility.
Which i dont think is the case in your case because you said that the firmware upload in Linux works ok ??
Have you tried aplay ??? Make sure you have a proper Preset File for hdspmixer, because not only the volumes are set but also the routing......
Check the output of amixer contents!
Maybe that give a hint to someone on alsa-user list
