Puh, that's a good suggestion ... my PCI128 actually has problems too on W95. (NT I don't know) Candidate for a "-even-more-stupid-sounddriver-than-on-linux" switch I guess
I just did a performance a couple of weeks ago with an SBLive and had Pd w/ audio and Pd w/ GEM on the same box (dual processor). It ran great with around 250 ~ objects (using some switches as well).
I have to use SBLive on Windows .. your suggestion really saves me some hours of hacking on a MS platform :)
