This started out as icons for the app and files. I think that should
be the focus. But it would be great if the logo worked on web sites,
t-shirts, underwear as well.

Yes, but most of what we've seen have been screen captures that were then brought into pixel editors for clean-up/modification i.e. not produced with pd, but pictures of pd. I think many have been quite attractive and usable as a program icon, but I am still not impressed
by the idea of a pd screen capture as a logo per se.I need to get on this and actually make a logo myself. Maybe I'll have time tonight.
By logo, do we want something like a splash screen, or something to display on a website, or what? How would it be used? Or do we not even want a logo, or just an icon?
BTW, has anyone gotten any feedback from Miller on this, or does he not have an opinion (or doesn't care)?
Cheers, Nicholas.

I think that a pixel editor is a very different mindset than Pd. So I think that the icon should be designed in Pd so that it better represents Pd. The software one uses most definitely affects the outcome.

I think we are talking about a logo from which icons will be made.
I think the yin/yang came up because it looks like the letters Pd, but I agree, I don't see a strong connection to Pd. I personally think that the icon should be designed in Pd, since Pd is all about
creating media.
I agree. Since pd is "graphically challenged", the logos and icons should be designed accordingly. Included is my pd icon, made with pd on
Linux
(it's only 137 bytes). Earlier this summer, I installed the actual pure-data.org logo, made by patrick@11h11.com. -- Marc
