This Friday 6PM Pacific time (10 AM Sat. UTC if I'm subtracting right) Randall Packer will run a teleconference in which among other things, Vibeke Sorensen, Rand Steiger, and I will talk about a piece we presented (with many other participants) in 1999, making it an early Pd perfornace. (First time out was actually 1997 but the 1999 one, named Lemma 2, was the culmination of the project). I'll attach Randall Packer's invitation:
I would like to extend an invitation to join us online for the Artists Roundtable: Networked Performance, on Friday, November 9th from 6 Â 8 PM PST. This global event, joining Singapore, UC San Diego, and CalArts, will be tele-conferenced live over the Internet via Adobe Connect (see instructions below).
The event features Vibeke Sorensen, Rand Steiger, and Miller Puckette, who collaborated on the seminal Global Visual Music Jam Project http://www.visualmusic.org/ in the 1990s, along with David Rosenboom, whose recent telematic work, Ah-Opera http://www.ah-opera.org/home , was performed at Redcat in Los Angeles. The discussion will explore the evolution of networked performance including technological issues and compositional strategies.
The event is part of the Open Source Studio http://oss.calarts.edu/ , an online course offered in the Fall, 2012 by the Center for Integrated Media at CalArts. Please see relevant information below for instructions to logging into the online event. Feel free to write me if you have any questions.
Hope to see you there!
