When you click the [print( message, it should tell you which elements
are supported and their type. Do you get any event at all when you
press a button? Try hooking up a [print] to [hid] and see if you get
anything when you click a button. They might report using non-
standard labels.

Ok, I've been trying the (semi)latest build (downloaded < 1 week ago) of pd-0.39.2-extended-rc2 for os x (phew!) and hid plays nice with my sidewinder joystic, computer keyboard, trackpad, and usb mouse---but although it recognizes my ddr dance pad, the button events do not register in the hid-help patch.
What's the best way to troubleshoot this?
