Download the following : http://data-art.uqam.ca/pd.data-art.osx.sit
It includes the newest version of PD and Gem (and more).
Here is the proper .pdrc http://data-art.uqam.ca/pdrc.sit Extract its contents in your home folder (the folder with the same name as your user, "julieta" for example).
Check apple for more info on your home folder

Hi! I tried what you both suggested, but it just behaves the same way. Although I didn't know what roc meant by -path /users/julieta/whatever/folder, since I don't know what folder to address...(sorry if i don't get
it).
Everything but the .pdrc (which is in users/julieta(this is my home)) is in
applications/Pd
, which I also tried... I think Pd is working, but I wouldn't be really
sure.
I mean, I open a test patch, and some things work fine, like the metro and random and those kind of objects, whereas it doesn't seem to recognize the object counter (which I thought was odd), and it doesn't recognize any of the Gem objects. I just
get
one Pd window when it opens, and then the other
window
when I open the test pdfile. When pd opens I don't
get
any messages in the console. When I open the file,
I
get:

Try this:
-Get Info on the Pd application
- Select 'Show Package Contents which will open
another window in the Finder
- Navigate to Contents->Resources->extra
- drag Gem.pd_darwin into the Extra directory
- use -lib Gem in your .pdrc
Please post the console messages if Gem doesn't
load
using this method.

Hi, i am new to pd and to the list. Sorry to
ask
such
a basic question, but I have tried and it seems
I
am
not able to figure it out on my own. I have downloaded pd 0.38-2 from Miller
Puckette's
site and GemG5 from taproot.dyndns.org. I
unstuffed
and got a pd0.38-2 file and a Gem.pd_darwin
file.
I
placed both files in a directory that I created
at
applications, named Pd. After that I created a .pdrc file in textedit.
I
put
in there: -lib /Applications/Pd/Gem I saved it and put it in the home directory
(which is
called julieta). But pd doesn' t seem to recognize Gem still. I
was
wondering what I could be doing wrong... I
also
tried
to put the same -lib /applications/Pd/Gem path
in
the
path files on Pd. I don't really know much
about
anything, but I was doing the installation this
way
after the instructions of a friend. If someone could help me out, that'd be
awesome.
