As you're on RedHat, this seems to be the most painless solution.
do you know if anyone has compared this special 'low-latency' installation with, say, ASIO in winXP? is it likely that latency could be brought down even further? I'm just considering moving to RedHat, and apart from the fact that the -realtime (priority) command is only available under linux, and there is probably more control on the junk in the background processes, if even lower latency is possible then it's a must.
