Let's keep this on the list since it might be of general interest.

hi, hans;
thanks! it works now. i still had to modify the Makefile to take out two lines with "$" in them (iemhelp/help-$n and iemhelp/help-parent-$0) because my shell was choking on them.
Hmm, thought I'd fixed that, but I guess not. All that escaping is a tricky pain in the ass. ;)
also, OSCroute and xsample are not part of this package. it says on your page that some packages are not available on all platforms, so maybe these are they. i installed OSCroute via CVS but all the rradical examples are still choking on the object and refusing to run. i built xsample~ also but it just segfaults whenever i try to use the objects. oh well.
xsample and the flext stuff is not yet part of this package, but it will be. I forgot to include OSC, its in now. I am uploading the new tarball right now.

Oops, typo in the build system. (FYI: the idea with Pd-extended is that everything is included, no other downloads necessary). I have a RC6 version up on my site, with this bug fixed. Give it a shot and let me know (on the list) if you have any problems.
You should uninstall the current one before installing the new one, using: make uninstall.

hi - i'm having trouble with this installer. i ran sudo make install, and then had to make a few modifications to the Makefile because of $'s in iem helpfile names that were throwing my shell off. but now running 'pd' i just get:
Pd version 0.38.4-extended-RC5 compiled 23:23:45 Nov 27 2005 port 5401 TCL_LIBRARY="/usr/local/lib/pd/tcl/library" TK_LIBRARY="/usr/local/lib/pd/tk/library" "/usr/local/lib/pd/bin/pd-gui" 5401 sh: /usr/local/lib/pd/bin/pd-gui: No such file or directory Waiting for connection request...
i grep'ed the Makefile and there's no mention of pd-gui being installed or copied anywhere. the installer also didn't create a /usr/local/lib/pd/bin folder. is pd-gui something i should download elsewhere?
thanks, -jake

flext externals, Gem, and PDP are notable omissions from this build. But its got lots and lots of other stuff, as you shall soon find out.
