make sure you are starting pd with both the -lib <path\nameoflibrary> and -path <pathtoexternals>.
on my windows machine this is how I would start PD with library zexy (my zexy.dll is in my -path directory:
C:\pd\bin\pd.exe -font 10 -path c:\pd\extra -lib zexy

i just downloaded the external zip from sourceforge, and everything seems to extract into the right places. however, when i tried to open one of the example patches that came with the package, the objects failed to connect.
i have used pd off and on--using mainly the core objects, but i have never used any of the externals because i seem to have the same problem. i have tried to search the past list and came up with only to extract the externals into the <extra> folder, which i did (this was on how to run zexy). i know this is a real newbie problem, but help is appreciated.
thank you.
