laptop soundcard?
as far as i have read...i need to install a module called snd-pcm1-oss
but i don't have that on my system.
can someone tell me how to install this module...or if there is a workaround. i haven't configured pd to work with jack yet, so if i use jack is that going to make things easier?
i think that simplest would be to use alsa (start pd with "-alsa"). jack is more complicated as you need another application (the jack daemon) to run before pd, and it doesn't really offer anything that alsa does not offer. (which could start another flamewar) jack certainly has its merits but for getting audio going i would start with alsa. jack only builds on top of alsa.
