hello again !
well, that's exactly what i tried. in PD Media -> Jack i can change the outputs but it always falls back to 2 outputs even if i disable the checkbox. also tried modding the .pdsettings where i changed the flags: -outchannels 8 odd, no?
also edited jacks patchbay to have 8 inputs from puredata labeled output0 to output7. dac in PD is assigned to [dac~ 1 2 3 4 5] PD output message...
error: signal outlet connect to nonsignal inlet (ignored)
thanks for your help, Dominik

You choose the amount of inputs and outputs in the Media->Jack menu item. You can choose as many as you want for jack, I think. Then use qjackctl to connect inputs and outputs with other software.
You can also make qjackctl remember your connections in "Patchbay". I think you need to enable "Activate Patchbay persistance" in qjackctl -> Setup after you've made a Patchbay settings file.

Hi all,
just have some trouble finding the right software. currently running the puredyne distribution (a derivative of ubuntu)
which
means rosegarden doesn't work, i also tried qtracker to trigger PD.
However, the problem i am facing is that i have difficulties using PD as
an
input into the sequencer to make use of the effects (don't like to build all by my own in PD) as
well
as using the sequencer outputs as inputs to PD (vocoder). so, basically i am talking about some routing software that runs under
Jack.
Unfortunately PD is aways trying to only give me 2 outputs, also i tried
the
dac~ 1 2 3 4 to have 4 outs i could then run several independent synths.
anyone got some idea? how do people run their laptop systems?
Thanks in advance, Dominik
