let's ignore the attempts to start Pd in OSS-mode, since there is no
OSS-device.
- try running in half-duplex (only audio-in (-noaudiout) OR audio-out
(-noaudioin))
- experiment with different audiobuf/blocksize settings.
- try using jack (you mention that you tried; but how?)
