hi,
as im the one who has made the port of the fftease to jmax, i can say that it is pretty o.k. to port the jmax object to whatever one whishes ..... i had a long e-mail conversation with christopher and eric, and booth agreed (and were happy, too !) to port this _and_ place the result under the gpl.
the only thing that is not under gpl is the pv-lib parts that are used in fftease. they are simply free as in "free beer", i.e. no restrictions apply to them. everyone should and could use them as (s)he wants.
and yes, if someone makes a backport to max/msp, that would be strange, but why should one ?? they are already available as free max/msp objects, so if one makes a backport, (s)he makes seriously the same work twice.
greets,
chris

BTW a port of christians gpl'ed FFTease for jmax to pd is already in the testing phase, so stay tuned
Wow, that's great. But I'm a bit unsure about the license issue. It's seems strange, that FFTease is only GPL'd for use in jMax. I doubt, that the authors would have anything against using the code for PD, but obviously one is not allowd to port this back to MAX/MSP. But the GPL would allow even this. I'm puzzled...
ps: hope, i've got all the permissions right
yep! even the tarball ;)
Bei den deutschen Paketen stimmt's auch ;-)
