with the "other formats" you mean backslashes vs slashes or what exactly?
yes, backslashes & double
however, the downloaded search-plugin appears only when it's placed in ..AppData/Pd
with "..AppData/Pd", do you mean "C:\Users\Gebruiker\AppData\Pd" or "%AppData%\Pd"?
it should be the latter (which is *not* the same as the former on W10).
on my W10 the deken-plugin uses C:\Users\Gebruiker\AppData\Roaming\Pd
could you repeat your tests with "-verbose" turned on for both pdx and pd-vanilla and post the complete output.
when trying to find the cause of an error one repeats exactly what one
did before;
however sometimes it's very worthwhile to try something else.
in this case i staid all the time with zexy and atoi.
first it appeared that other libraries do work. secondly i tried a2l instead of atoi: works also.
ok, i did 3 different verbose runs: 1.vanilla with a2l & atoi -> a2l succeeded, atoi not
2.pdext (which i use in the not-installed version) a2l & atoi it's started with the included pd-extended.bat file. in this bat file the to-load libs are mentioned in the command line. to have no libs i changed the name of the extra folder.
-> a2l succeeded, atoi succeeded
3.pdext as in 2. but without the libs in the command line (and extra
folder not existing)
-> a2l succeeded, atoi not
the disfunctionality i mentioned in the opening of this thread reappeared a few times. i cannot yet determine what's exactly causing it (hickups in the internet connection?).
i doubt that the problem is on your side (e.g. broken internet connection). more likely it is just the server taking too long to respond. how long do you wait before you consider Pd "disfunctional"?
i've included a png of the deken output when it's disfunctional.
when this happens (always immediatly after starting the search) it is
not possible to move the cursor in the deken window, because this
produces immediatly again the error pop-up.
in the Pd console no messages about it.
also included a 'faulty download' output: then the downloaded zip is empty.
