It maybe *nix, but its not Linux.
Default macOS installs are case INsensitive, unlike Linux. You can, of course, choose case sensitive when formatting a new partition, but I'd say the vast majority of people are running patches from their default partition.

Hi,
is it possible that an abstraction loads as [myabs] when only a myAbs.pd file is present under OS X? I can't test this right now.
I thought that filenames on Unix Systems are case sensitive and that they are not so on Windows.
