This design is using the PIC18F4550, but there's also the PIC18F2550, which is similar (with more or less i/o ports). I have a PIC18F2550, and that should be possible to use it as well. Maybe Christian Klipper have an opinion. -- Marc
the 18f4550 is basically the same as the 18f2550. the 25 has only 28 pins, while the 45 has 40 pins. both have the same amount of memory, ram, etc. so, it should be possible to use the same code on that chip, you will just loose some i/o ports.
