0.12.12 added pdp_mp4live~ : mpeg4ip streaming object to stream to a darwin server note : now, building of streaming objects is optional ( with --enable-ffmpeg OR --enable-mpeg4ip : warning, you can't enable both, they are conflicting )
Does streams made with ffmpeg are compatible with the quicktime player on MacOS and Windows?
i'm afraid not. ffmpeg streams can be read with vlc on macs and, better, with mplayer on linux. it can also outputs .asf stream for windows.
Which option (--enable-ffmpeg or --enable-mpeg4ip) is best for quicktime streaming?
-enable-mpeg4ip, but the second part ( the stream picker ) is on the way, to be released soon.
