Well, you got further than I did... I tried installing Kx and got only blue screens.
The sound driver scene is different (hopefully better) under the 0.37 test version than in 0.36. Get the very latest (0.37 test 7), try "pd -asio -listdev" to get a listing of ASIO devices, or, better yet even, just crank up Pd, select "asio" in the media menu, and then "settings..." to select an ASIO device.

Hi, I'm using a soundblaster Live card (for my sins). I have installed the kx audio drivers to give me more control and to give me asio i/o. I cant seem to get asio working properly, was hoping someone could lend a hand.
pd -listdev supplies the following output.....
C:\pd\bin>pd -listdev MIDI input device #1: kX Uart SB0102 5.1 [dc00] MIDI input device #2: kX Control SB0102 5.1 [dc00] MIDI output device #1: Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synth MIDI output device #2: kX Synth SB0102 5.1 [dc00] MIDI output device #3: kX Uart SB0102 5.1 [dc00] MIDI output device #4: kX Synth2 SB0102 5.1 [dc00] MIDI output device #5: kX Control SB0102 5.1 [dc00] audio input device #1: kX Wave SB0102 5.1 [dc00] 0/1 audio output device #1: kX Wave SB0102 5.1 [dc00] 0/1 audio output device #2: kX Wave SB0102 5.1 [dc00] 4/5 audio output device #3: kX Wave SB0102 5.1 [dc00] 6/7 audio output device #4: kX Wave SB0102 5.1 [dc00] 8/9 not using MIDI input (use 'pd -midiindev 1' to override)
Any suggestions for a tired pd user?
