as an alternative you could re-route data thru Python - you need to install Python itself (unless it already is), the pyserial extension and Thomas Grill's [pyext] object. Works fine for me on OSX and Windows, but probably on Linux too (I had problems with Keyspan adapters under Linux though; a Vivanco worked fine)
rene the comport2000 you can find here http://iem.kug.ac.at/ritsch/programmier/pd_externals/ compiled for linux
maybe someone out there has a compiled version of the comport2000 for osX?
keyspan has serial->usb adapters you can use with linux

hi
i'm working on getting some microcontrollers to send strings to a serial port to get them into pd. the project will probably end up on linux eventually but at the moment i'm on osx. does anyone have any info or links on using a serial to usb adapter on osx (or linux) with pd? i haven't managed to find anything helpful regarding the comport or serial objects.
any help appreciated
rene.
