now, the only thing i would need would be a syphon client for pd, that we could get other applications output into pd.... someone already working on this?

Unfortunately, those solutions read back to main memory, which is slow, and adds a lot of latency and processor overhead.
Syphon works directly on the GPU, sharing the OpenGL resources directly, app to app, no readback or round tripping. This allows sharing to any resolution your GPU supports (assuming you have the fill rate and VRam). I've personally been able to do 2K ARGB frames at around 30fps, from one app to another. This will depend greatly on your GPU and system load however.
