forgive the newbie question but what is .pdrc? a search for it in the
finder does not find anything.
Its the old preferences file. If you are not using it, no need to
learn it. If you want to know more, check the FAQ:

I installed Jack OS X last night and then this build of PD worked. The
previous versions from your website and a few other variants have also
worked for me in the past without jack.
Good to know, thanks.

Strange, it used to be optional and work just fine. I wonder where
this path is coming from:
"/Volumes/Document1/Developpement/ProjectsCVS/JackCVS/Jack_CVS_HEAD/ config/os/macosx/build/Jack.framework/Versions/A/Jack".Have you tried starting with "-portaudio" in your .pdrc? What is in
your .pdrc?.hc

I take it I need Jack installed for this to work?
When I start up 0.38-4-extended.RC0.app, I get this error message in
my console immediately, and the app itself just "beachballs"
forever; it responds nicely to a force quit however.Anthony
