Dominic,
You quitter you! I'm not giving up on my current Slack installation just yet. It's taken me a month to get as many things installed on it as I have so far and PiDiP is about the last thing I need to get working!
Installing the latest version of ImageMagick solved the compile problem. It all compiled fine. Then when I loaded pd with -lib pdp /path/to/pdp and -lib pidip /path/to/pidip I get:
/home/andy/pidip-0.12.19/pidip.pd_linux: /home/andy/pidip-0.12.19/pidip.pd_linux: undefined symbol: quicktime_close pidip: can't load library
The problem now was clearly with the quicktime install. I then realised that the version of PDP that PD was loading was one I compiled a while ago without quicktime support. I deleted that, made sure that PD loaded the version of PDP with quicktime support and:
PDP: pure data packet PiDiP : additional video processing objects for PDP : version 0.12.19 ( ydegoyon@free.fr ) pdp_colorgrid: version 0.4, written by Yves Degoyon (ydegoyon@free.fr) & Lluis Gomez i Bigorda (lluis@artefacte.org)
Looks like it's working! Haven't tried any patches yet. I'll save that excitement for tomorrow. I still need to get my webcam working anyway...
Yves - thanks a lot for your help!
Andrew.

hi there,
I gave up on pidip in fedora3 (ccrma). I run it in debian, demudi. Its very simple to apt-get by adding the following to your sources list:-
deb http://sindominio.net/~caedes/debian/ unstable main deb ftp://ftp.nerim.net/debian-marillat/ unstable main
I'm building another demudi box this week for a supercollider workshop we are running. I'll make a record of all the stages I go through and mail you a copy if you want to give it a go.
good luck
Dominic

Yves, list,
Thanks for the reply. I have ImageMagick 6.1.9. I see in the CHANGES.LOG file that it 0.12.19 has been adapted for Image Magick
6.1.9. Do you mean >=6.1.9 or should I upgrade?! My error message is
copied below. Now I look at it again I see it can't find a file (magick/xwindow.h) - maybe I should reinstall/install ImageMagick?
I am trying to install 0.12.19 downloaded from your webpage.
Cheers,
Andrew.

Dominic, list,
I second your request for help at this point of the pidip install! I only just got that far; came across that problem; searched the mailing-list archive for a solution and found your message that went unanswered. Have you managed to get pidip installed yet?
I'm running Slack 10.1 with 2.6.12. PD 0.38-4 and PDP and PiDiP from the sourceforge CVS.
I'm also currently having problems with accessing my webcam in PDP, but I'll start a new thread for that!
Andrew.
