AFAIK, Gem is built using a standard configure/make setup. So it
would just be a matter of tweaking the configure.in and makefile.in
for MinGW. MinGW is quite close to Linux in terms of building, so
it probably wouldn't take much, mostly likely just some -I and -L
paths, and maybe some Windows-specific -l library flags.oh i would love that! (but i am booting into w32 so seldomly that i don't think i will get

Here's a little tidbit to spur you on: you can cross-compile for MinGW
from Linux. Then you wouldn't have to touch Windows to make Window
binaries.
