Just downloaded Ergates from your site. Do I need to install extra
libraries to get it to run on WIN-XP?If you have a look on the install page it says which libraries you
need, including my own set of Puredata abstractions, Gem, Zexy, Puredata
itself, Python, and Pygame. Soon I'd like to replace the Python/Pygame
dependency with HC's [hid] external if I can. On Windows I beleive that most of these are one-click installers from around the Net. Under Debian
GNU/Linux they are easiest to install with two wgets, and one apt-get line. http://mccormick.cx/projects/ergates/page/download
[hid] isn't on Windows yet, but works on Mac OS X and GNU/Linux.
Should be quite straightforward. And I far as I know, its stable.
Let me know if you find crashes.
As for all the dependencies and versions, I think Pd-extended will
help you a lot. The builds are built from the exact same sources on
all three platforms. The latest auto-builds are now dated, so if you
find a nightly build that works, you can specify the date.
The idea here is instead of everyone spending time debugging custom
setups and creating custom installers, if we all pool our efforts
into one package, we'll all be better off.
