hm, interesting. The other day we had another problem with Portaudio ASIO on a HDSP system on WinXP: channels were not in sync, differed by multiples of 64 samples. Is this a known problem, and are there any solutions?
Thanks, Matthias

i'm trying to deal with latency in my winzoz system with hdsp rme multiface. my latency settings are 128 or 256 samples block..and it works very well in Bidule and other software. in the pd asio panel i can't set the latency lower than 18 ms....if i go 16 ms i get bad crackles. does it mean that my total output latency is 256 sample (around 5 ms at 44100) plus those 18 ms? is anyone with a similar setup able to go lower?
i got reports, that the native asio in devel allows you to run the hdsp with pretty low latencies .... there is a rather old build: http://www.geocities.com/themokabar/software.html
Indeed the native ASIO interface provides the best latency, but also Portaudio ASIO is working quite well with the devel version. They are both not 100% clean though, especially when switching hardware buffer sizes with PD open (but DSP off).
