ok, I can see the problem now. i think it's the part_velocity that is causing problem, not part_gravity. (if you remove the part_velocity from the 2nd patch, then you don't have any more unwanted interaction). if you change the gravity direction in 1 of the 2 patch, it won't interact with the other.
So, there is a problem somwhere...

the part_source object does have an inlet to change the number of new particles for each frame. you just nead to set it to 0 to have no new particle created. the older particles will live until part_killold.
