Hi Luke,
There is no such thing as a "string" in PD, symbols, floats and lists (and signals.). Johannes assumes you mean a symbol with a space, I'll assume you mean a list. ([list symbol symbol symbol<)
To join two lists you use "glue" from zexy and use it as you've used your "pack" (but without creation arguments)
