hello:
Thanks for your reply.
Ummmm, I think my laptop's adc is ok because the input sounds fine outside of Pd (but the fuzzy recording problem applies to all my other linux audio apps). Am I making sense? I mean I can listen to the input ok, but once its recorded or put through Pd's adc~, it becomes fuzzy. Also, my machine is dual boot with Windows, listening and recording the input is also ok in Windows.
Any ideas?
Many thanks again
Yours
CHUN

Hi there:
Just a quick question. I am running Pd in Fedora on a toshiba laptop. I have just tried taking sounds from the laptop's audio input. I just made a simple adc~ connects to dac~ to hear the input sound.
The sounds appears to be pretty fuzzy or clipped no matter how I adjust the levels in the volume control of fedora.
Any idea anyone?
well, it could just be your laptops adc. for instance, when i use the adc~ on my laptop (which only has mic-in (no line-in)) i have a noise about -20dB. apart from tapping directly on to the microphone-slot this makes it quite useless for me...
