Hi all,
I'm starting to use zexy's sfplay, and it seems great. I'm interested in using the "goto <byte>" feature, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to determine the length of the sound file so I know the range I can jump around within. Any suggestions?
you will need the object [soundfile_info] to determine a soundfile's length. it's part of the IEMLIB library.
btw: [readsf~] can also "jump around" in a soundfile with a little message tweaking. i prefer that to [sfplay] for 2 reasons:
1.) it seems to respond faster than [sfplay] 2.) it runs in a seperate thread outside pd, so it doesn't draw CPU power from PD itself.
overall it appears smoother to me. just my experience.
While I'm at it, what's the right inlet in sfplay for?
sorry. dunno either.
ciao
oliver
Thanks matt
