Hello
I have an old Pentium 1 MMX 100 MHz laptop that I would like to use for MIDI controlling with Pure Data under Linux. Is it possible ? I'm afraid the Tcl/Tk GUI will be very slow
i had a 150 mhz pentium laptop (before i destroyed it) and pure data would not run on it. i mean it would launch..and then take over 100% cpu and be more or less useless. this was with win95, and also with debian. you're welcome to give it a shot, perhaps if you use the -noadc or -noaudio flags you will get better results. pd is quite usable on my 262mhz powerMac however...(also running debian)
Also, which Linux distribution would you install ? I currently use PlanetCCRMA RH on my desktop computer
Maybe using a classic MIDI sequencer would be better ...
