Hi list,
I just played around with the pix_film object (on win) and found that it doesn't like codecs with intra-frames (XVid and other mp4s for example) very much: when such a clip is being played and one jumps to a frame that is not self-containing, artifacts of the old frame remain in the picture until the next I-frame appears. I've read somewhere that a DirectShow-enabled version of pix_film is in the works (maybe AviSynths DirectShowSource() could be a source of inspiration here?) - that's a good idea to get rid of this sort of codec troubles. Then again, the effect mentioned above is very interesting for VJs. It would probably be a good idea to keep the current pix_film for this reason - one could rename it to pix_film_weird or something similar :-)
With kind regards, Thoralf.
