Olivier,
this may be even more off-topic, but I would really be interested in getting pulseaudio to work nicely together with jack on Ubuntu 8.04 - could you please share your configuration?
Thanks, Matthias
hm.. i wasn't able to find the original resource. i try to reconstruct everything from memory. it assumes, that you have jackd and qjackctl already configured, up and running.
get the package 'pulseaudio-module-jack' from: http://packages.debian.org/lenny/pulseaudio-module-jack
install it: gdebi-gtk pulseaudio-module-jack_0.9.10-3_<your_architecture>.deb
save the attached file as '.jackd.pa' to your home directory.
start qjackctl and go to the setup. change to the 'options' tab and: -check 'Execute script on Startup:' and fill the field with 'pulseaudio -k'. this will kill pulseaudio, as soon as jackd is started -check 'Execute script after Startup' and fill in: 'pulseaudio -n -F ~/.jackd.pa &' (without quotes)
now you have to (re)start the jackd server. check the 'Connections' window of qjackctl and you should see 'PulseAudio JACK Sink', respectively a 'PulseAudio JACK Source' port.
hope, that helps.
