hello
I would like to use pd-0.37 under Linux (RH9/HDSP card), but I get strange problems with it. I installed the PlanetCCRMA rpm with apt-get.
ALSA driver works, for example I can play a sound with "aplay" (the only backdraw is that "hdsploader" does not load automatically after booting)
When I type "pd" in a terminal, the pd windows starts, but I can't open nor create any patch (Ctrl>n or Ctrl>o have no effect) Actually, no GUI control has any effect, even Ctrl>q
I have to quit pd using "Ctrl>c" in the terminal, and I get this error :
============================================================================= Pd: signal 2 using non-interleaved audio input Sample width set to 4 bytes ALSA: set input channels to 14 ALSA lib pcm_hw.c:324:(snd_pcm_hw_hw_params) SNDRV_PCM_IOCTL_HW_PARAMS failed: Device or r esource busy snd_pcm_hw_params (input): Device or resource busy pd: pcm.c:4887: snd_pcm_sw_params_current: Assertion `pcm->setup' failed. ============================================================================== (btw nothing is printed in the terminal until I type "Ctrl>c")
any idea ?
When I type "pd -oss", pd has the same "phantom" behaviour
Maybe I should use Pd with JACK ? I will first read a good tutorial about JACK, actually I know only very few about it
thanks for your help, j
