(anyone windows hackers want to help?) As for tablets, the wacom works
well with GNU/Linux and [hid]. On MacOS X, Wacom decided to create
their own API rather than integrate their driver in the existing API
(punks!). That means in order to get [hid] to support tablets on MacOS
X, there needs to be a section written to the Wacom API in addition to
the Apple HID Manager.
The same is true on Windows, since most (all?) tablets use the WinTab API (see http://www.wacomeng.com/devsupport/pc.html).

For linux H.C.Steiner's HID object. I think it may also runs under
OSX, but I haven't any idea about windows. The thing is that you're not looking for it to be supported by PD or
GEM. Hardware is supported by your operating system. Once you have OS
support you need a way to get the info into Pd, which is usually not
hardware-specific. People have used tablets with Pd, so an external is likely. A quick search in the pdb shows [gemtablet], then there's
[hid] which I mentioned already, and there are probably a couple
others floating around. If, for some reason, none of the Pd externals works with your tablet,
you still most likely will not need to write a driver. All you would
need to do is write a Pd external to capture the tablet events from
the operating system.Of course, I've never done any of this, so I may be totally wrong ;)

Hi to all PD users, I have a question for you. I've created a friction model with PD for my thesis exam and I have to control it with a wacom tablet. That we have is Intuos, is someone there who know if it is supported by PD or GEM or I have to write the drivers? The wacom intuos is a usb tablet.
Thanks in advance
