Hi list,
thanks for the private replies. I am glad to announce that Vasily
Kuznetskov did programme a bridge which uses a software http:// smstools.meinemullemaus.de to connect to a mobile phone by
bluetooth, gets the short messages from there and saves it into
files on the computer, there they are parsed by a python script
which acts as a bridge to the patch. the patch plays the tunes on
the carillon via midi. it is very fascinating to control the
carillon by sending a sms because it turns the bells into a
powerful public instrument. the installation will be active until
the end of the festival, the 21.10.2006. you will find the phone #
for controlling the carillon in the booth beside the tower on the
marketplace.--

hi list,
there is the following opportunity: for a festival radiorevolten
in halle/saale an artist was supposed to programme an interactive
work with the cities carillon (glockenspiel) this artist gave up
on it last minute. so there is an urgent need for someone stepping
in this place. the idea is that anyone can send sms text messages to the carillon
during the festival and it will play an signature tune of an radio
station. so if the text message contains "RADIO VATICAN" its
signature tune will be played by the bells.is has to be woking by next friday! if nobody is up for it the project will be dropped. there is a
budget of 750 Euro. the carillon is the worlds second largest and is MIDI
controllable. it could possibly be the first one controlled by pd...please contact instantly
also: if anyone has connected a phone to read short messages in
pd, please step up-http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roter_Turm_(Halle) http://radiorevolten.net/
