I built a settable route abstraction using dynamic patching. It requires [initbang], which is missing in pd-vanilla, so you'll need pd-ext if you want to use it.
Let me know how it works if you try it.

[maxlib/nroute] can do that. The only difference to [route] is that it doesn't eliminate the value that is routed. This is because it can be set to any location of the list that's coming in.
