why not use the command line?
- open a shell
- ls /usr/lib/pd/extra/
but I think pd is located in /usr/local/lib
=> ls /usr/local/lib/pd/extra
=> ls -l for a more detailed view
=> ls -h for all possible parameters
- to go to /usr/local/lib/pd
cd /usr/local/lib/pd
(press the tab-key once in a while to experience the joys of autocompletion)

As an old Maxer I still don't know how to look into /usr/lib/pd/extra/
(I mean without commandline) because I can't find them on my Powerbook
though they must be there. Definitely something to put into a FAQ for OS X
