That's because it looks for anything like "/dev/tty[SU]*". Possibly if you open by name [open /dev/rfcomm1( it will work, if rfcomm1 is a serial port.
the workaround is just to create a symlink, for example: # ln -s /dev/rfcomm1 /dev/ttyS99
now plug and play with [comport 99 9600]
[open /dev/rfcomm1] definitely doesnt work. error: bad arguments for message 'open' to object 'comport'
