Hi Chris,
Thanks for the info; indeed this is tons of information ;) but i have no clue what it all means..
After the header: Thread 0 Crashed: it says
Thread 0 Crashed: 0 lqt_xanim.so 0x067f770c xanim_create_qt_colormap + 0x184 (xanim.c:399) 1 lqt_xanim.so 0x067ec1d4 lqt_xanim_init_vcodec_1 + 0x210 (lqt_codec.c:177) 2 lqt_xanim.so 0x067ebb20 decode_rpza + 0x50 (lqt_rpza.c:22) 3 libquicktime.0.dylib 0x015781ac lqt_decode_video + 0x74 (lqt_codecs.c:462) 4 pdp.pd_darwin 0x02044a8c pdp_qt_bangvideo + 0x88 (pdp_qt.c:530) 5 pdp.pd_darwin 0x02044b80 pdp_qt_thread_bang + 0x40 (pdp_qt.c:574) 6 pdp.pd_darwin 0x02044d04 pdp_qt_bang + 0x120 (pdp_qt.c:631) 7 pd 0x0003a3f4 sched_tick + 0x7c 8 pd 0x0003a698 m_scheduler + 0x23c 9 pd 0x000027d0 _start + 0x17c (crt.c:267) 10 pd 0x00002650 start + 0x30
Somebody who can tell me something about this?

There is a crashlog that the OS writes to when an application segfaults. You can find this by opening the Console.app in /Applications/Utilities and clicking on the Logs button in the window. There will be a list of various logs and the relevant pd one will be under the ~/Library/Logs tab and inside the CrashReporter tab. Crash logs have a ton of info in them, but the most useful bits begin after the 'Thread 0 Crashed: ' heading.

hi,
this happens when reading movies or with the capture device?
The pdp_ieee1394 object is in the patch, but even when it isn't activated, it's crashing [see first message below]. When the capture device is running, i get the second message.
All the movies i use are already encoded in photo-jpeg.

i've seen libquicktime crashing with many movies, maybe try to reencode them in photo-jpeg..
cheers, sevy

Hi list,
PDP keeps crashing.. I'm running in under OSX; - i know that that isn't the preferable system - but i would like to get it working anyway.
These are the messages that i get. I'm running it as root#.

thanx,
