yes, list are very slow.
by example, pmpd* object have messages to output list, in order to "list prepend 0" - "list trim" - "send table-foo"
[list trim] is superfluous in this example.
we add few years ago messages to allow direct writing to table.
using list size > 100 or 1000 gives incredible speed difference.
