...well, just grabbed your alpha10 changes, but still stuck at the same spot! Sorry I'm not more help, but I've never used sed...
even harder for me: to maintain things in an osx portable state without even a mac to check them on, while finding out those bsd versions of the most basic scripting tools being so picky...

I'll be doing some MacOS X work soon, so I am sure I'll be trying it out then. But if you are interested, you can get shell access to the MacOS X machines in the SourceForge compile farm, its quite easy:
