Hi, it would be great if you can tell me what the exact problem with the new build system is. pool in cvs should be readily usable with it.
Compilation should be as easy as bash ../flext/build.sh lnx pd gcc and su -c "bash ../flext/build.sh lnx pd gcc install"
if compiled for linux and flext and pool are checked out into the same base folder. Flags to be passed to the compilation are defined in flext/buildsys/config-lnx-pd-gcc.txt with the UFLAGS variable (or OFLAGS just for optimization stuff). They will be applied to every external you compile with the build system.
best greetings, Thomas

Hey Thomas,
I'm trying to update my linux PD stuff and it seems the CVS folder for pool as of today does not have the build-* config-* and makefiles that readme.txt refers to.
I recompiled and installed flext 0.5.0 as well, (I could not figure out how to tell it to go to /use/local/lib/pd/flext and not /usr/local/lib)
I tried copying the old pool build files, but all kinds of things have changed, ie no libflext.a but:
yeah i gave up on the new build system to...its just too complicated. you can cvs co -D "8 weeks ago" externals/grill to get the old stuff... or does anyone know a way to pass thru flags with the new one? in the old one you just edited a line in a config file , in the new one even after export CXXFLAGS= etc it still is missing in certain places, i tried manually hacking it into various cryptic automake files to no avail..

So I could not get anything out of pool. Is it being updated for the new build system?
Any pointers welcome!
Thanks. B.
