Hi,
I know this f.... behavoiuor of Win2k. It sooner or later happens to _nearly_ _all_ programms, not just Pd!
Which servicepack do you have installed? For me it happened quite often with the W2k installation from the original CD. Since I have servicepack 2 installed it does not happed that often (but now other application crash or just don't start...). But: it also happens to applications included with W2k (e.g. Explorer), so I think it's something M$ related.
If you have any other Win-Systems installed / available try to use those to see if 'your' Pd is causing the problem. If this works, try another servicepack for W2k. If not, I don't know....
Btw., has anybody experienced this problem using a none-German version of W2k? Some other strange things on W2k: '=' in messageboxes sometimes disappear, audio sometimes closes (audio stuck, closing audio - error)...
good luck,
Olaf
PS: try to scoll down the content of the c:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\your name\Lokale Einstellungen\Temporary Internetfiles in explorer (just move down the slider on the right hand side), I bet this crashes explorer itselfe with the same or similar message you get when Pd crashes...

hi today my pd crashed three times during work. it always happened after about 10 or 20 minutes of working and when i was selecting some objects. i use a version, which i recompiled with vc++ 5.0 some of the error messages i got: pd.exe fehler in anwendung. (pd.exe error in application.) die anweisung in "0x10018334" verweist auf speicher in "0x00000001". Der Vorgang "read" konnte nicht auf dem Speicher durchgeführt werden. Unbehandelte Ausnahme in pd.exe (pd.dll): 0x00000005: Access Violation of course i think this is a consequence of my compilation. but i dont know where i made the mistake. does the "nmake" ever show any error messages during compilation? for i got none... i use 0.35.11 and w2k. marius.
